Q - I have a horse that is showing signs of arthritis, what product would you recommend to help with this type of condition.

A – Ultra Flex has proved to be very effective with horses showing the signs of arthritis.  The main ingredients in this formula have well known joint support and comfort properties, and have also been shown to help maintain the structural composition of connective tissues.  This formula of herbs was designed specifically for our own 5 year old sport horse that had been diagnosed with arthritis in his fetlock.  He is now on Ultra Flex and back in work and starting his show-jumping training.

Q – I compete under FEI rules and my horse can sometimes be a little stiff when competing at a 3 day competition or when he is worked harder. Are there any herbs that would help, and would I still be okay to compete whilst using the herbs.

A – Herbal Bute helps the body to natural healing, which in turn will give relief from pain and helps with stiffness, the relief is gradual as the tissues rebuild and repair, due to the herbs that are classed as cell proliferents.  These are very important for strains or sprains and muscle damage. This product can be   given on a long term basis and contains no prohibited substances, so can be given to horses who are competing in any discipline.

Q – My mare suffers when she is in season and her behaviour becomes quite erratic. She also seems uncomfortable and rubs her sides and even kicks out at her stable. I would prefer a natural solution for her can you help.

A – Mare Remedy helps to tone and balance the female reproductive system.  The herbs are rich in natural hormone precursors which help to maintain good levels of oestrogen.  Mare Remedy does not stop your mare from coming into season, instead it assists in easing the discomfort.  This formula contains some herbs that are known for their amazing ability to treat female complaints, and has been successful in helping hormonal related problems and can really settle a mare when she is in season.   Usually one course is sufficient to solve most problems.

Q – My horse is currently on box rest following a tendon injury and I am looking for anything that can help with the healing process, and can be given potentially on a long term basis.

A – Herbal Bute is very effective in helping the healing process and has been used with excellent results on horses with tendon problems.  The product contains anti-inflammatory herbs and can be given on a long term basis even when horses come back into work and return to competing.

Q – I am looking for a calming product that I can use when my horse is in a stressful situation, for example when I take him to a show. He is more focused at home but can get anxious when not in his normal routine. I have seen the Calm & Settle product but wanted to make sure that it is safe to compete when using it, and also that it won’t affect the performance or make them lose concentration.

A – Calm & Settle is used for horses in all disciplines, including horseracing, and really helps them to be more relaxed and focused.  It is safe to use for any competitive discipline and does not contain any prohibited substances.  It is suitable for one off occasions when horses can become anxious or stressed.

Q – I have a mare that I struggled to get in foal this year. How effective is Regular Mare and how does the product help with mares that are more difficult to breed from.

A – The results from the use of the Regular Mare Herbs have been excellent, with improved fertility and long term barren mares getting in foal.  The formula helps to balance the female reproductive system and maintain good levels of oestrogen, and has helped mares get in foal that have been on long term medication for hormonal imbalances.

Q – I have restricted turnout for my horses in winter and they are fed a high level of concentrates whilst fit and competing. I am concerned about ulcers and how to treat them.

A – Ulcer Guard is a very effective treatment to soothe and assist the whole of the gastrointestinal tract, helping to prevent gastric ulcers.  Ulcer Guard also works in the hind gut.  We recommend using one course which is a 500g tub, and then as needed depending on the diet and regime of the horse and their general well-being.  As a guide this can be every 6 months but please contact us for guidance if needed.

Q – I have a show pony that is proving very difficult to gain condition and is a picky eater. Would Digestive Balance help to gain condition and improve her eating.

A – Digestive Balance is a combination of bitter herbs which are specifically for the digestive system, stimulating and assisting in digestion. It encourages appetite for fussy eaters and is excellent for horses and ponies who find it difficult to gain or maintain their weight.  It has been very successful in helping horses and ponies gain weight and transforming their condition.

Q – My horse has suffered with ‘tying up’ and filled legs and can also have low energy levels. Can you suggest any herbal supplements that may help.

A – Feeding processed feed and too much protein can result in the kidneys becoming overloaded, and can result in the symptoms you describe.  Kidney Flush includes the herb Uva Ursi and other herbs with diuretic properties, nervines to aid the muscles to relax, and finally demulcents to help soothe the inflamed tissues.  The product lasts 5 – 6 weeks and it helps to tone and flush the kidneys and help expel any build-up of lactic acid.

Q – How does your Anti-Bleed product work and are there any circumstances where this product is more effective.

A – Anti Bleed includes herbs that are known to have diuretic properties, and herbs that are known for their anti-bleeding and haemorrhage stopping ability.  The product also contains anti-inflammatory properties and aids breathing and respiration. The herbs are also naturally high in calcium.  It is important that the herbs are introduced prior to increasing the workload, and for the horse to be given 14 days of lighter work whilst introducing the herbs.  We recommend introducing Anti Bleed when a horse is coming back into work.  Once the herbs are in the horses system then faster and more strenuous work can be introduced over a period.  This will ensure the most effective results for Anti Bleed with a horse that is prone to bleeding when put under stress.

Q – Please can you tell me more about your natural worming product.

A – Verm Free is for internal parasites, it is also effective against red worm in all stages of its cycle. This combination of herbs includes herbs that are classed as vermifugal (herbal agent that will cause the expulsion of worms from the body) and herbs classed as vermicide (herbal agent that destroys worms within the body).  Verm Free also contains herbs that are alterative to aid the body to cleanse and demulcents to help soothe the mucous membranes, thus causing no discomfort. These herbs also help to condition so is an excellent conditioning powder as well as being an   excellent parasite repellent. As it is herbal it is not harsh on the system.  1 tub covers 3 horses or 6 ponies.
